Father’s Day Challenge

Take five days this week to bring your kids to Jesus.

Pick a time each night and sit down together as a family, devote it to each other without distractions.

Day 1.                                     Read Mark 9:14-32. What are the disciples doing when Jesus returns? What are the father’s emotions and how have they been crushed so far? What are some things that you need to bring to Jesus? Pray together as a family. Review the Memory verse.

Day 2.                  Read Mark 9:14-32. Imagine and discuss Jesus’ feelings toward his disciples, the teachers of the law, the man and the boy. How did He respond to each person? How does He respond to us when we ask for help? Discuss what your family needs help with and pray together as a family. Review the Memory verse.

Day 3.                  Review Mark 9:14-32. What happens when they bring the boy to Jesus? What does Jesus ask the father? What are some questions you have for Jesus? Pray together as a family. Review the Memory verse.

Day 4.                   Review Mark 9:14-32. Does God require complete and perfect belief from you before He acts? (see vs. 21-25) Why? What did Jesus say the condition was for healing this boy? Do you know someone that needs heeling? Pray together as a family for your needs and the needs of others. Review the Memory verse.

Day 5.                                   Review Mark 9:14-32. Why couldn’t the disciples drive out the demon? What did Jesus say must be done? Discuss with your children the importance of prayer and plan a time to pray with them each day. Pray together as a family. Review the Memory verse.

For Sunday: Draw a picture of Jesus healing the boy or make a list of people in your life that need healing.
