Life Groups are an essential part of Life Center's culture. In relation to our motto "Loving God, Loving people," they provide a major avenue for living out these primal pursuits that Christ gives us as His followers (Matthew 22:37-39).
The Mission of Life Groups: To honor God by helping people become wholehearted followers of Christ by cultivating relationships and communities for friendship and spiritual growth.
What is a Life Group?
A Life Group is comprised of three or more people who meet together regularly for friendship and spiritual growth in Christ. Each group may have a different focus and format, but what they all have in common is at least one leader or facilitator who is intentional about helping people (whether Christian or pre-Christian) take one step closer to Christ through a meaningful relationship.
Our most common type of Life Group follows a "sermon-based" or Bible study format. In these groups, members meet to discuss and ask questions about the weekend message and/or a Scripture passage or topic. As they talk through the lesson, participants find ways to personally and practically encourage each other to apply the Word to their lives.
But we have Life Groups that focus on many other interests and needs as well, with that intention of building authentic friendships and fostering spiritual growth in or towards Christ.
Check out our Life Group Connections sheet to see all the types of groups that are available!
Starting a New Life
Life Group leader training is the entryway to becoming a life group leader. This single-session course is offered at least once quarterly. Watch the bulletin or contact Adult Ministries for information or registration.
Sermon Study Guides
Many of our Life Groups meet to discuss and apply Joe's sermon series. Their leaders and anyone with interest may access our weekly Sermon Study Guide to use for these purposes.
