Learn more about Maseyisini and how Life Center is partnering with World Vision:
World Vision has only recently started working in Swaziland. The children sponsored by Life Center are mostly from Maseyisini, Swaziland. The majority of the people in Swaziland make their living through agriculture. Many of these farmers have only small plots of land and struggle to provide even enough food for their families. Families are very poor and there is rarely marginal income to cover clothing and education expenses for children. Many portions of the country lack health care facilities and only 52% of the population have access to adequate water supply. Life expectancy is only 33 years of age. Sponsorship resources are helping World Vision improve sanitation practices and develop clean water programs that will protect children from health risks.
World Vision has dedicated staff to assess the need for clean water and design a plan to provide good water for the whole country. This is one of World Visions’ primary objectives associated with their Area Development Program (ADP) in Swaziland. Resources are needed to drill wells and provide water catchment and filtration systems to bring water to 40,000 people in the Maseyisini region. Life Center is partnering with Maseyisini, Swaziland in the area of water resources. This will require a level of financial support at nearly $500,000 over a three-year period. Pastor Joe is currently in conversation with area churches about partnering with Life Center in this venture.
