Nicaragua Team Update 6/18 and 6/19/12

June 18th
Gary Justesen:

Well after long hrs waiting at airports overnight flights and a long bus ride (the bus ride was delayed because there was a horse parade in the middle of the road. They were in no rush to move, so we waited and waited, finally a very large rain came and everyone moved very fast.) A good night's sleep and we will start working on projects. Thank you all for your prayers. Blessings to you all.

Kristi Burns:

Huge rainstorm. More than I've experienced. So hot and humid but the team is doing great. Front porch of orphanage getting rebuilt. Prepping for VBS all good!

June 19th
Gary Justesen:

Yesterday the team took apart the roof of the patio because it had damage due to leaks, mold, and termites. Also we sorted through all of the suitcases that were full of the supplies for the kids. Joy (the care giver here in Jinotega) took what she needed for the kids. It was a huge blessing! Tomorrow we are putting on a VBS for the kids. We are having one for the kids here at the orphanage and then one later in the afternoon for the kids in the community. We have face painting, crafts, games, and songs! Please pray for the team's health and protection from spiritual warfare.

Kristi Burns:

First full day at orphanage behind us. Second day we are finishing up prep for VBS and finishing up porch roof.
Hotter today, but no rain. Domestic violence with shouting and what sounded like gunshots woke some of us up early this morning.
You can seemingly feel the spiritual oppression. Everyone is healthy so far with a few having bubbly tummies. Young teens doing well and interacting well with kids. Thanks for keeping those prayers coming.
