Nicaragua Team Update 6/20/12

Hello Church!

Thank you all for your prayers, without your prayer help we could not accomplish the work that God has set forth.

Yesterday was very productive as we finished the entry project (replacing the soffit material). More work was found that will need to be completed, but that will have to be done by future teams, as we did not have the time to complete the work this trip. The team also did some fence repair and determined that there was more to complete but that will have to wait until later today. Some of the team planned and outlined the VBS event that we are going to today for the kids here this morning and then 60+ kids from the neighborhood this afternoon. Two teams set out yesterday to do the inviting and praying for the neighborhood VBS which was great. We did get to see and pray for those who live around the orphanage. We are mostly complete with the first VBS as I write to you this morning. We will complete more projects today between the VBS's and this evening. Tomorrow we will head down the mountain to Los Cedros, I am sure it will be difficult to leave these kids.

It has been wonderful to see God move in the kids, the families (groups within the house) and our team. These kids are very joyous and I pray that we are all infected with the same joy, in some regards we are the students :-)

First VBS with orphanage children is a big success! Face painting, bracelets, cereal necklaces, pictures of each child in a handmade frame, worship songs in Spanish, relays, games and a Bible story on how Jesus always loves us. This was dress rehearsal for 65-90 kids this afternoon from the village! Joy abounds! Thanks for praying. One new girl unable to smile two days ago or enter in today was a full on, happy participant! Prayer heals all!
