We believe that fulfilling the Great Command and our church motto of “Loving God, Loving People” is best accomplished if we actually spend time with God and people. (Yes, the appropriate response is, “Duh!” But although Jesus teaches and does it, if we’re honest about our own lives and schedules, most of us don’t make time in our busyness for genuine relationships with God and others.) Thus, we provide a variety of ways for people to interact for friendship and spiritual growth, from classes to Life Groups to one-on-one mentoring. And the vast majority of these are run just as the apostle Paul says they are to be—by members of our church who are cheered on and supported in their service and leadership by our staff:
11 It was he [the Father] who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
So our hope and prayer is that you will find friends and grow together spiritually at Life Center through one or more of these opportunities. And as you get involved in these various ministries, if you’d like to get in the game of serving and leading, we would love to help you along that route, too! For instance, we’ve made starting a Life Group or class easy through Basic Life Group Leader Training [Adult Education Page], offered quarterly.
So we invite you to come get involved. Relationships are the stuff of life, and God is calling us all in!
