A place to belong.
AdventureLand provides children with an always loving, sometimes loud (except
near sleeping babies) environment in which they can learn about God, His love
for them and how they can love others. Active, creative, and FUN, AdventureLand
uses drama, puppets, worship, videos, discussion, and small groups – whatever
teaches your child best and most appropriately. All lessons are derived from
the Bible. Four directors and a pastor lead our efforts and diligently work to
see that every child who enters our program is loved and cared for.
Mission & Vision
Our
Mission (what we’re doing):
To partner with parents in the adventure of
loving, training, and inspiring children to become wholehearted followers of
Jesus!
Our
Vision (where we’re going):
To be a church that so loves and
values children that every person is investing in children’s
lives, encouraging them to develop a personal relationship with God
and helping them to become a biblically functioning member of the
community of believers.
Our
Values (built on the foundation of Life Center’s values):
1. AdventureLand endeavors to provide creative Bible teaching
that is relevant to kids today, evangelistic, application-based,
and life- affecting.
2. We value “intentional shepherding” meaning that we will recruit,
train, and release “Small Group Shepherds” that will love, care and
mentor the children in a small group setting on a regular basis. We believe this
provides the best environment for children to discover and utilize their spiritual
gifts in the Kingdom of God.
3. AdventureLand is a child-targeted ministry. We will look at everything we
do through the eyes of a child in order to accomplish our mission. The decor
in the rooms, the songs, the Bible lessons, etc., all will communicate that children
are treasured.
4. We will provide an emotionally, physically, and spiritually safe place for
children to grow. We believe all our children should feel safe, loved, and accepted
whenever they come to AdventureLand.
5. We want AdventureLand to be a FUN place! Our goal is to have our children
come back week after week because they enjoyed their time so much they can’t
wait to return.
6. We value excellence. We are committed to do our very best as we serve and
love children in Jesus’ name. This is expressed through our preparation,
presentation, punctuality, and facilities.
7. We value family. Because the family setting is where most childhood development
takes place, we will partner with parents to support their efforts to raise a
godly generation.
8. We value our volunteers. We will recruit and develop our volunteers around
their spiritual giftedness and create realistic job descriptions that will honor
their time, sacrifice, and gifts. |
