In Mark 10:13-31, Mark tells two stories that serve as foils to each other as they contrast different responses to Jesus. One response is the eager abandonment of a child to simply be with Jesus; while the other is the sophisticated reserve and hedging of an adult given the same opportunity. The only way to truly be with Jesus is to be eager and willing to drop everything and be with Him when He calls.
